Candice & Sunny and a few of their besties
I asked this old guy to take a picture with my phone and he was cracking us up. He couldn't figure out how it worked.
He always makes us laugh. I love my dad.
He started seeing pictures of himself and that made him laugh.
Candice & Sunny and their mommies
Candice & Noah her cute son.
Terry channeling history and lynching himself (he just was sick of wearing his tie)
This was our note to Ashley to wish her a happy birthday

Candice had collected tons of different bottles and wrapped them in twine. Their table decorations turned out so cute.
The porch at the "non party" cabin (but really anywhere Jake stays IS a party.
Such a nice peaceful place to hangout - but no one is hanging out with me… wait a second.
crossing the Mighty Mississippi (there are these little buildings like floating islands, you'd have to apperate on the doorstep to go see them - (cool and creepy)
View from the top of the St. Louis arch
Kelly demonstrating just how high up we were
Maren feeling a little closed-in on the "Mork & Mindy" pod that takes you up to the top. The arch is not for claustrophobic people
Outside of the arch. It is surrounded by some beautiful parks. Just don't get caught on the wrong side of the river in the bad part of town… just saying' it's a little unnerving.
Small cabin in Nauvoo, IL
This was the first home Joseph Smith lived in Nauvoo, IL and you can see the stone laid over his grave, Hyrums grave, and Emma's grave.
Whose ready for some dins? Could you imagine cooking like this? We have it so easy.
This is upstairs in Lucy Mack Smith's home where her daughter, son in law, and kids slept.
This is her little bed tucked away in a corner of her living room.
The backside of the gorgeous Nauvoo Temple
There are a series of stones at the Carthage Jail where Joseph & Hyrum were killed. Cathage has an amazing spirit to it. Even though it is a place where murder took place - there is a quiet reverence felt there and it was amazing to be in places where the prophet actually walked and talked. I loved visiting it.
This is the house/jail where they were kept. The jailer and his family would have lived here among the prisoners.
This is the window that Joseph fell out of.
This is the actual cell where prisoners would have been held right inside the house.
The walls are unbelievably thick.
This is the living/sleeping quarters of the Keeper of the jail and his family.
This is the kitchen where the prisoners and family would have eaten on occasion together.
Jake & Stone and Stephanie's oldest daughter.
Carla & Jake (she hasn't changed a bit after all these years)
Dadders putting his feet up at the cabin on Fathers Day
eating some ice cream for breakfast
I love this old guy
Jake and his cat goofing around (these were pilfered from his phone unknown to himself)
such a cute picture
I love that Jake is all about the selfie and his cat is not having it.
picture of the cabin from across the lake
Jake found Kelly & I in our hiding spot and came to entertain us and make us laugh.
You can't have enough selfless of Jake - he is too cute!
or this guy - the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
Another look outside of Carthage Jail. It was amazingly preserved.
The actual cell were prisoners were kept. The jailer kept Joseph in his private room one floor up fearing for the Josephs life.
This was the bed where John Taylor being hit with 5 different shot wounds lay but recovered later on and went with the pioneers to Utah.
They preserved the bullet hole which pierced the door and killed Hyrum trying to hold the door close to the angry mob
Another view of the door
The window Joseph fell out of
A view of the front of the jail
the second floor window Joseph fell out of
a state of the brothers just outside the jail
Buchanan street in Carthage, IL - those Buchanan's are everywhere
The Mighty Miss - the drive from Carthage to Nauvoo is gorgeous and your drive for quite awhile down the Mississippi river.
The stinky fudge shop - it smelled like an old moldy building but the fudge was soooo good!
such a beautiful tribute to saints that gave everything they had for their faith
what is it with me & street signs? They misspelled Paige's name, she won't like that.
a couple more pictures from Lucy Mack Smith's house
look at those cute dishes
Lucy's quote that is amazing just like she was.
the little bed on the second floor where the wee little ones slept
Kelly taking pictures
Nauvoo is truly a beautiful little city.
Nauvoo is so picturesque and all the missionaries get to dress up and talk to people about the early saints
the gravesite of Joseph, Emma & Hyrum
the backside of the monument
the temple sits up on a hill. This picture was taken from close to the river entrance
the scary haunted factory in St. Louis
lots of haunted buildings that would make for some great stories in St. Louis
haunted schoolhouse anyone?
Kelly & Maren at the arch - or are we?
seriously could not see the arch it was so bright out and its reflective powers were mind blowing.
Hey look we found our buddy Mark. We got to drive through Hannibal where he was born. It is so picturesque. Streets and streets filled with Victorian houses.
Kelly having her own pod experience - they jam those things full of people. Don't we know for the ride down. At least they were smallish people.
The mighty Miss was mighty muddy
So unreal and you could feel a slight sway
So, I'm a little afraid of heights.
